The Literature Club of PSGIMSR hosts a variety of fun events across the year, one of them being Fiction Vs Faculty.
In collaboration with Alchemy, the official Research forum of PSGIMSR, this event features eminent doctors from our college who critique and decode medically relevant scenes from popular shows, reiterating the fact that effortless learning can be gleaned from sources as fun and riveting as cinema.
Fiction Vs Faculty first started in September 2025 and has occurred 2 times since then. The first event hosted Dr. Jothilakshmi, from the Department of Pediatrics. The second hosted Dr. Denesh Narasimhan from Department of Medicine and the third hosted Dr. Sujaya Menon, from Department of Medicine.
In the most third, and most recent event, Dr. Sujaya Menon shared her insights on the first episode of “The Pitt” - an American medical drama series. She shared various anecdotes from her years of clinical experience, and her witty humor greatly enlivened the session.
The students found the event really insightful and entertaining and will definitely look forward to such events in the future.
