The NCC Felicitation Ceremony held at PSG IMS&R on May 18th was a proud occasion that
celebrated both legacy and leadership. Bringing together cadets across batches, the event marked
the felicitation of the outgoing Batch of 2020 while formally conferring ranks upon the cadets of
the 2024 batch, symbolizing the passing of responsibility from one generation of leaders to the
next.
The ceremony began with the newly appointed rank holders taking their place with confidence
and composure. Dressed in uniform and standing in perfect formation, the cadets reflected the
discipline, uniformity and commitment that define the NCC. The conferring of ranks was a
particularly significant moment, recognizing the dedication and hard work of the 2024 batch and
entrusting them with the responsibility of leading the unit in the coming year.
The felicitation of the Batch of 2020 formed the emotional heart of the event. Having spent years
balancing the rigours of medical education with NCC training, camps and service activities, the
outgoing cadets were honoured for their contributions to the unit. The enthusiasm displayed by
the cadets throughout the event was evident, creating an atmosphere of pride and camaraderie.
The Chief Guest delivered an insightful address on the role of doctors in the Armed Forces,
highlighting the unique opportunities available in military medicine. The talk offered a glimpse
into a career that combines medical expertise with service to the nation, inspiring many students
in attendance.
As the ceremony drew to a close, it left behind a renewed sense of purpose among the cadets.
More than a celebration of achievements, it was a reaffirmation of the motto that the NCC stands
for- Unity and Discipline
